Banana A Day - Gunnin' For That #1 Spot

Directed by Adam Yauch, this documentary is a fantastic look at some up and coming high school basketball stars. The film is based around the 2006 Elite 24 hoops classic at Rucker Park, where anyone from grade eight to twelve can be selected to play. The film focuses on eight of these players from across the USA. It is fascinating how all these different kids come from varying backgrounds, but are all achieving the same goal. For some of these kids if they make it into the NBA, they will change the lives of their families forever, and be able to provide them, at least financially a better life. Others have trainers and parents who can provide them with everything they need. The music and the basketball in this a great, and it is one of the most enjoyable documentaries I know. As a foot note, four of the eight kids are already in the NBA, and there is a very good chance, that the rest will be moving up in the next few years.
