Shotguns and Stilettos - Roman Holiday

I’ve always been a big Audrey Hepburn fan so it was not surprising that I loved Roman Holiday. In fact, I really should be grateful for this movie because it was one of Hepburn’s first major films. Which is probably what is most shocking about it. Hepburn just shows how good of an actress she is in Roman Holiday, starring alongside one of Hollywood’s big wigs actor Gregory Peck. I wouldn’t necessarily categorize this movie as a major romance flick. It is just a fun watch when you have all the girls over for a party. Hepburn plays the role of Princess Ann, on a political trip to Rome she experiences a bit of a break down and runs away from her royal duties. Along the way she meets Gregory Pecks character Joe Bradley, an American newsman also in Rome. Pecks character realizes he can make a quick buck if he can get an in depth interview with the princess (who is of course totally unaware of his profession). The movie shows some breathtaking shots from Rome and is just a fun light hearted film. Hepburn and Peck have great on screen chemistry and this film will continue to be a classic for many more years to come.
