Banana A Day - Kill

Tatsuya Nakadai plays the opposite of his character in Sword of Doom in this inspired Kihachi Okamoto film. Nakadai's character in this is a lite hearted yakuza while in Sword of Doom he is a killer with no soul. It is amazing to watch him act as he embodies each character perfectly. As for the film, the directing is fabulous as well as the cinematography. My favorite part of the movie is the bond between the characters Genta (Nakadai) and Hanji. After meeting in the beginning of the movie they go there separates ways and join rival sides of a civil war between a clan. When they eventually confront each other they do not fight simply because they were both in the same situation at the beginning of the film and have developed an unlikely friendship. This is amazing character development and is a result of the master hands of Kihachi Okamoto.
