Classic 80s social satire crafted by the master John Carpenter. The heroes of the story are hardworking homeless people who have to fight invading aliens as well as the rich who have sold out to them. Roddy Piper and Keith David are great in this. Their epic fight which they coordinated by themselves over a couple weeks is crazy. John Carpenter liked it so much that he kept the entire five minute scene in the final cut. Roddy Piper's character Nada runs around killing aliens and laying down knowledge like Confucius, he is definitely the best part of the movie.
