Box Office Review - The Losers

This movie is meant as pure entertainment, and it delivers in droves. The movie starts off with The Losers being betrayed on a mission, and left for dead. The rest of the movie is a men on a mission revenge flick. The Losers have cool names like Rogue, Pooch, and Cougar. They have enough gadgets to put any two Bond films to shame. The amount of exotic locales visited makes Tranformers 2 look like a family vacation. Max the villain in the film is so eccentric and evil that Aurik Goldfinger wouldn’t never take a meeting with him. Basically The Losers is a blast. Everyone involved in this movie seems to being having a great time. Thus their great time is our great time. The Losers played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Idris Elba (RocknRolla), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), Columbus Short (Death at a Funeral), and Óscar Jaenada (The Limits of Control) are a great group of guys to follow around. Zoe Saldana (Star Trek) also shows up as the mysterious and beautiful Aisha who has the master plan for taking revenge on villain Max. None of their characters are developed very much, but that didn’t affect the film at all. These guys are the best at what they do, and their angry. That’s enough character development for any revenge flick like this. The Losers reminds me of some of my favourite action movies like The Rock, Face/Off, and Broken Arrow. The action is very well done, and aside from a couple poor CG heavy scenes looks great. I love it when a film sets out to do something and achieves it entirely. The Losers sets out to be a great time, and boy does it deliver.
