Banana A Day - The Cottage

This stares Andy Serkis (The Prestige), and Reece Shearsmith (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's Battle-Bot enemy from Spaced) who play brothers attempting to make some quick cash by kidnapping a wealthy crime lord's daughter. They take her to a cottage in the country, where everything goes crazy. The film is billed as being a comedy/horror, but it is mostly just a comedy. There no attempt at building up any type of dread, or suspense and that didn't bother me at all. Shearsmith is hilarious in this, and I loved watching his moth fearing, wuss of a character handle being stalked by a psycho killer. The score for the first half was absolutely terrible, but half way through, it improved and complimented the remaining scenes. There is one grotesque scene, but nothing that shocked my desensitised brain. This feels like what Dead and Breakfast was trying to be, but while that filmed failed and became a mindless piece of trash. This one does not stoop to a ridiculous level and was enjoyable and satisfying.
